Justine's Auction

When the auctioneer’s gavel falls, Justine and Ryan have bought each other at the charity Bachelor auction in support of breast cancer research. Neither could predict the instant hot and steamy attraction between them.

Then the sexy action gets too hot for Ryan to handle, and he backs away from his lover, fearing that the cancer in both their families will eventually strike Justine and take her away from him. He thinks that he’d be better cutting Justine out of his heart now rather than later.

Ryan’s sister, suffering from breast cancer, and the reason Ryan was being auctioned off in the first place, arranges an intervention from her cancer support group. After his initial rage and shock at the intervention, Ryan decides to try and win Justine back.

Will his efforts be enough to overcome her fear that he might leave again when or if the going gets tough? Will he even be able to convince himself, let alone Justine?

Justine’s Auction was a beautiful tale. I could tell that the topic of breast cancer is a heartfelt subject through Ms. Murray’s words as I could practically feel the love, support, and fears that came from the different characters affected by the disease. The part where Ryan is ‘bought’ the second time around was especially touching as it gives the reader some insight into how people react as well as deal with the results of the cancer. While I did want to choke Ryan more than a few times within this book, I must say by the end I was feeling much better about him and ended up finishing it with a smile on my face.

…Ryan’s sister, Leah, must discover why Ryan is acting so strangely and find out whether this auction ‘date’ really means the world to Justine and Ryan’s happiness. I really enjoyed this story and give it a B+! (89-94%).
